Samantha & Zach
Samantha and Zach got married at The Lenox on Saturday, June 24, 2017. One year later, Samantha has shared all the most memorable moments of their big day with us!
The Bride & Groom
Zach and I met in November of 2009 while we were both pursuing degrees at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. One night at a party at Zach’s fraternity house, he asked me to dance and I have to admit I was quite impressed with his dance moves. We survived several years of dating long-distance while I studied abroad in Copenhagen and Zach moved to Atlanta to begin his career. Finally, we decided to get settled in Boston where we both pursued graduate degrees. Zach proposed during a family cookout on Martha’s Vineyard and then we couldn’t wait to start planning our wedding!
Why The Lenox for Your Wedding?
I came to Boston for the first time when I was interviewing for graduate school in 2012, and I stayed with mom at The Lenox Hotel. She immediately fell in love with the Back Bay location, the staff, and the amazing candles in the lobby! When Zach and I first started planning our big day, we knew we wanted a centralized location that was easy to get to for all of our out-of-town guests. The Lenox was the perfect place to showcase the city that we had made our new home.
Favorite Moments From Your Wedding Day? (Saturday June 24, 2017)
There were so many! I loved when Taylor stole us away for a few minutes during cocktail hour to show us the decorated Dome Room. It was so special to be able to see the space before all of our guests entered. Zach loved dancing the night away, of course! We danced with our family and friends to the amazing band, The Soul of Boston.
Any Advice For Couples On Their Big Day?
We highly recommend doing any photos on the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. The brownstones and beautiful trees make for an amazing backdrop, and it’s only steps away from The Lenox! It’s also much less crowded than the public garden, which we thought was nice. Another thing I would recommend is having a few moments alone as a new married couple after the ceremony and before the reception. After our ceremony at Old South Church, Zach and I hopped into a 1937 Cadillac and took a secluded spin around the city before joining all of our guests at the cocktail hour. It was the perfect way for us to catch our breath and enjoy the moment for a couple minutes before celebrating with everyone else.
